About UsThe Bend Genealogical Society (fondly known as BGS) has been a gathering place of family historians in Bend, Deschutes County, Oregon, since January 1, 1993 though definitely genealogists had been meeting together in Bend, Oregon, for many years before 1993.
| Genealogical LibraryThe BGS Genealogical Library has over 2,400 genealogy books and journals for research in nearly all US states and many countries around the world, plus reference & how-to books, and lots more. Regular Open Hours (except Holidays) The Library is FREE for the public to visit and research using the books in the Library. Local Record LookupsBend Genealogical Society volunteers may be able to find Deschutes Co. records for you or an obituary in the Bend Bulletin or Redmond Spokesman. There are fees for local lookups. |

BGS earns a donation from Fred Meyer when every time you shop and use your Rewards card. Select the Bend Genealogical Society as your charity of choice at: Fred Meyer Community Re-wards. Then, use your Rewards card every time you shop. Your Fred Meyer rewards are not affected by the donation BGS receives |  Bottle Drop is the easiest way to keep Oregon litter free by redeeming bottles with eligible deposits. Nonprofits can benefit, too, when you choose to donate your bottles to the BGS account. How? 1) Pick up a Blue Bag with a BGS tag at the BGS library or a BGS mtg. 2) Fill it with bottles with a 10 cent deposit & drop off the full bag at a redemption center or the BGS Library. |
The Cultural Trust funds cultural activities in Oregon through grants. Donate to an approved nonprofit, such as BGS, and then make a matching donation to the Trust.
