Saturday Programs at BGS

Your genealogy journey grows richer when you share it with others. Every month, the Bend Genealogical Society offers three welcoming Saturday programs, each designed to support, inspire, and encourage you as you explore your family history.

Whether you’re digging into a tough puzzle, organizing years of research, or simply enjoying the stories that brought your family to today—you’ll find friendly faces and a supportive community ready to help you keep going.

FIND YOUR PROGRAMS NOW!

1st Saturday of each month
10 AM – 12 PM

A relaxed, drop-in research session for all experience levels.

Open Labs are flexible, hands-on work time with friendly BGS volunteers available to help as needed. There is no formal lesson and you choose what you want to work on, and we support you along the way.

Bring your laptop, questions, or research challenges. You might use this time to explore a new line, work through a record, organize files, look at DNA matches, or simply figure out your next step.

Whether you are just getting started or have years of experience, Open Labs give you space to learn, ask questions, and make steady progress at your own pace.

3rd Saturday of each month
10 AM – 12 PM

A welcoming, themed genealogy gathering with coffee, conversation, & a little something sweet. Hosted by Kelly McCray
& Kim Vanderford

Coffee & Cousins is our monthly conversation circle where we explore ideas, share discoveries, and enjoy good company.
Each month features a different topic or guest in an easygoing, encouraging setting. Grab a cup of coffee, enjoy a treat, and join the conversation.

Perfect for:

  • Organizing files or photos

  • Writing or editing a story

  • Reviewing DNA matches

  • Cleaning up online trees

  • Completing long-postponed research tasks

Use this time to keep momentum going on the projects that matter to you.
