Bend Genealogical Society Privacy Policy

The Bend Genealogical Society, Inc. (more commonly known as BGS) respects your privacy. Any personal information you provide to us, including and similar to your name, address, telephone number and email address, will not be released, sold or rented to any entities or individuals outside of BGS.

• Your Information: While your personal information is only available to other members via BGS’s member-only section, you still have the option to control what is visible to other members by visiting your Member Profile and clicking on the “Edit profile” button.
• Email: BGS sends you automatic announcements about upcoming events and emails from administrators, such as newsletters and other notifications. You can opt out of receiving these by changing your email settings at any time in your Member Profile.
• Website and Newsletter: Periodically articles about and photos of members will be displayed on the BGS website, in the BGS Newsletter and/or in our private Facebook group. If you do not want your photo or other information used, please contact webmaster@BendGenealogy.org.
• Credit Cards: BGS does not process credit card payments and therefore does not collect or store any credit card information. Wild Apricot Payments processes credit cards for BGS. Please refer to Wild Apricot Payments for its privacy policy.
• External Sites: BGS is not responsible for the policies of external internet sites to which the BGS website may link. Read the privacy policy of any linked, external site for more information.
• Cookies: A "cookie" is a small data text file that is placed in your browser and allows BGS (and our website host company, Wild Apricot) to recognize you each time you visit this site. Cookies are used to ensure you get the best experience on BGS’s website. BGS does not use cookies to collect personal information.

• Remember the Risks Whenever You Use the Internet: While we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of any information that you transmit to BGS, and you are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of any passwords or other account information.
